I first met Hank, over 30 years ago, when he joined the Tuesday night five a side group. It didn't take long to realize what a lovely, friendly guy he was. Fortunately, when we needed someone new to take over the group, Hank stepped up. Without his, organization and dedication, the football would have ended,due to the amount of work involved in ensuring two teams turned up each week. With the arrival of camera phones, it soon became apparent how much Hank loved his family. After football, we would retire to the pub to rehydrate, and out would come his phone, to show us all the previous weeks exploits of the Hancock family, the pride he had in them all, clearly evident. He was a lovely man, with a big heart, who will be missed by a great many people. I am lucky to have had him as a friend.
